JACKIE JOHNSON II

Mr. Jackie Charles Johnson II (Jay Jay), 25, of Kansas City, died February 03, 2019. He was born June 22, 1993 in Kansas City, to Jackie Charles Johnson Sr. (Jack) and Penny Lynn Murrell. Jackie was the youngest of his siblings.  Jackie is preceded in death by his grandmother; Ethel Maxine Murrell (maternal), grandfather; Vernon Hayes (paternal), special aunt; Betty Jean Brown, eldest brother; Kevin Murrell (Pooh Pooh), aunts; Vicki Murrell (maternal), Paula Bibbs (maternal), and uncle; Andre Murrell. Jackie began his academic journey at Phyllis Wheatley elementary, Paseo Middle School of the Arts, Paseo Academy of Fine and Performing Arts, his barber career and entrepreneurship was established when he completed Transformed Barber & Cosmetology Academy. Jackie was active and dedicated to community service. He was stable with employment throughout his lifetime; one very close to his heart was his position at Urban Rangers which opened the doors to many unforeseen opportunities; “I’m broke baby “clothing line has become LIT, one of Kansas City finest! Jackie was the owner of “Tailor Made” barber shop. Jackie was certainly a “Momma’s Boy” and was adamant all knew the bond, love and loyalty to his mother. He loved to spend time with his friends and family as he was social, enjoying dancing and make jokes. We will miss our frequent stops to “Taco Bell” and QT for pizza. Jackie was phenomenal with children, a positive influence, kept not only a smile but was an encouragement to all he encountered. Jackie attended Providence Missionary Baptist Church where he was active in vacation bible school, holiday programs and enjoyed the annual Easter egg hunt.  Jackie leaves to cherish his memories his mother; Penny Lynn Murrell, father; Jackie Charles Johnson Sr., grandmother; Dorothy Hayes, grandparents; Charles and Doris Johnson, two brothers; Sean Murrell, and Steven Pulluaim, two sisters; Jackee Vassar-Johnson and Peneesha Murrell, His aunts and uncles; Pamela Abernathy (Melvin), Teri Pulluaim (Willie), Tracy Johnson, Joyell Hayes, Vernesther Hatmaker (Anthony), Rita Johnson Evans (Kenneth), Detra Johnson Williams (Charles), James Brown, Steven Murrell (Yolanda), Brian Murrell, Charles Johnson Jr.( Michelle), and Michael Colbert ( Vannesa), God sister; Imunique Swinton, god daughter; Londyn Swinton, and a very special cousin; Wiley D Weaver II. Jackie (Jay Jay) leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Watkins Heritage Chapel.  Visitation 11:00 A.M.
