William Leroy Maupin was born on January 8, 1942 in Trenton, Missouri to Nita Helms and Conway Maupin.
He graduated from Chillicothe High School (Chillicothe, Missouri) in 1960. William enlisted in the United States Army, serving in France as a translator.
William married Wanda Johnson of Keytesville, Missouri. William and Wanda were married more than fifty years. Two children were born of their union, Anthony and Kimberly.
William was employed for more than twenty years as a salesman for the D & H Tire Company. He was also a successful entrepreneur for many years. William retired from Georgia-Pacific Corporation. William enjoyed many pursuits and hobbies. He enjoyed playing softball, coaching baseball, playing dominoes, listening to jazz music, and socializing. William was also an avid bowler for more than thirty years.
William passed away April 1, 2019 at Research Medical Center.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Wanda; son, Anthony Maupin; daughter, Kimberly Maupin; grandson, Anthony “Little Tony” Maupin; granddaughter, Sydney Smith and a host of relatives and friends who loved him dearly.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at Watkins Heritage Chapel. Visitation 9:30 A.M. Interment Leavenworth National Cemetery 1:30 P.M.
