Bettie Calvin

Ms. Bettie R. Calvin, was born May 21, 1925 in Kansas City, Kansas daughter of Earl Bolten and Cassandra Calvin Blackwood. Bettie departed this life July 10, 2020 in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Bettie’s parents and stepmother Beadie Bolton and extended family Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Cutting have preceded her in death. Bettie completed her education in Kansas City, Kansas, and attended Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri.

She was a member of Metropolitan Spiritual Church of Jesus Christ and was an avid student of the Bible. She worked as a PreNeed sales agent for Watkins Brothers Funeral Home. Bettie retired as an E.K.G. Technician after more than 30 years from Menorah Medical Center and the former (General Hospital No. 2) Truman Medical Center.

Bettie leaves to cherish her memory extended family, Donna J. Cutting, Liberty, Mo., Evelyn June Cutting Krogman, Gladstone, Mo. Ronald Carl Cutting, Alabama, Kathy Ann Cutting Petell, North Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and friends. 

Services will be held Friday, July 17, 2020 at 11 am at Watkins Heritage Chapel, visitation 10 am. Entombment in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
