Charlotte James Obituary

Charlotte (lovingly know as Sissy) was born to James E. and Clementine Greenwood Calbert in Higginsville, Missouri on February 9, 1942. She was immersed in the Christian community at an early age, which would become her lifelong support. Charlotte loved the Lord Jesus Christ and was a member of Harvest Non-Denominational Church.

She began her education in Higginsville, Missouri and later her family relocated to Kansas City, Missouri, graduating from Manual High School in 1962.

Charlotte worked at Sears and Hartzfeld Department Stores in Customer Service and later worked at retired from State Street Financial Company in 2004.

Charlotte was married to Juneon W. James on September 23, 1961. They celebrated 60 years of marriage this year. She was the mother of two sons, Juneon W. James Jr, and Juedon D. James and stepdaughter Linda Mosby, grandchildren Anna, Avery, Emanuel (Ahmir) and Bryson. Charlotte was blessed with a loving family and was known to have a contagious laugh and a vivacious smile. She loved to watch Christian television.

Charlotte was a homebody and kept an immaculate home, A Proverb 34 Woman. She was known to be beautiful dresser, which her husband loved to shop and buy her clothes, and always had her hands and toes beautifully polished and manicured. She enjoyed family gatherings, especially Christmas and would beautifully wrap her gifts with beautiful hand tied bows.

Charlotte departed this life on April 13,2022 and leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband Juneon (Junior), who cared for her throughout her illness, her loving sons Juneon and Juedon, her grandchildren whom she loved dearly, one sister Betty (Terry) Fowler, numerous nieces, nephews, a special friend Patricia Meeks, brother-in- law Louis Hicks and sister-in-law Melva Calbert.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers James (Shirley) Calbert, Clifton Calbert, her loving sisters Patricia A. Hicks, Helen L. Dickerson and Claudia J. (Samuel) Newman.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 30, 2022, 11:00am at Watkins Heritage Chapel. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from  10am-11am at the chapel. Service conducted by Watkins Heritage Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.
