Deloris "Doc" Harris, 89, was born on October 27, 1930 to the union of George and Charlcia Harris in Tarry, Arkansas. He was the eleventh child out of thirteen. He is proceeded in death by his parents, four brothers- George, Cleotha, Odis and Artis, six sisters- Charlester, Pensacola Iverson, Novella Redd, Verdestine Neal, Coconello Wiley, Tedoria Toles and one daughter- Vera Jean Escoe.
Deloris accepted the Lord as his savior at an early age at Mt. Olive A.M.E. Church in Tarry, Arkansas, never forgetting from where he got his strength. Deloris enter the US Army on May 21, 1952, served two years leaving on April 30, 1954 with the rank of Private First Class.
Deloris married Mildred Callaway, and to this union two children were born Leon Harris and Vera Jean Escoe (deceased). Deloris leaves behind those to remember him, six children, Leon Harris, Erwin Harris, Reginald Harris, Derek Harris, Toiahnn Moore and Traci Harris. Two sisters Vegerine Zeno and Oleta Patterson. One special niece Gail Kelley. Several grandchildren and great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Services will be held on September 4, 2020, at 11:00 am at Watkins Heritage Chapel, 4000 Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd., Kansas City, Mo. Visitation 10 am Interment in Leavenworth National
Cemetery.
