FRANK HINKLE, JR. Obituary

Frank Edward Hinkle Jr., aged 66 of Kansas City, MO passed away on Thursday January 7th, 2021. He was affectionately known as “Wee-Wee” and “Frankie J” to his parents, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was born November 1st, 1954 in St. Louis, MO to the union of Frank Edward Hinkle Sr. and Arbra Lee Sheppard Hinkle. Frank was the first of five children to that union and he was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Arby, and his brother, John.

Frank attended school in Kansas City, MO where he attended Meservey Elementary, and then Central Junior and Central Senior High School. He later then attended Central MO State University where he obtained a degree in Marketing. Frank was also the chapter President of Alpha Phi Alpha, Zeta Gamma Chapter at Central MO State University in Warrensburg, MO from 1974 to 1975.

Frank worked at Sears Roebuck, then the Quik Trip Corporation, and was finally lead by God to The Folgers Coffee Company, where he retired after working faithfully and diligently for 30 years.  Frank retired July 25th, 2019 as a friend to all his colleagues and teammates.

On February 14th, 1982 he was united in holy matrimony to Donzella Christine Smith and took into his life his 18-month old stepson, David Smith. Frank and Chris remained married for 42 years and to this union, three more children were born; Christopher, Keesha and Kimberly.

Frank was the greatest husband, provider, and protector, and opened his heart, arms, and home to many. Frank’s most important role was as Father to his children - he loved and was proud of all of them.

Frank was also a Grandfather to Mr. Dahmir Williams and Miss Sha-Naya Nelson Hinkle. Frank loved all his family and loved doing family gatherings and  reunions. They will all miss you dearly.

Frank loved stargazing, traveling, gardening, swimming and sporting his blue Corvette for which he received many compliments.

Frank leaves to cherish his memory; Donzella C Hinkle (wife); his 4 children Christopher, Keesha, Kimberly (Jeramiah), stepson David Smith; two grandchildren; grandson Dahmir and granddaughter Sha-Naya; his three siblings; his loving sister, Deborah Davis, and two loving brothers; Jack Hinkle and Joseph Hinkle, all of Kansas City, MO; Frank also leaves to cherish his memory a host of loving aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

I wrote your name in the sand -  it washed away,

I wrote your name in the sky -  it blew away,

I wrote your name in my heart - that's where it will stay,

I will always love you, Frank Edward Hinkle Jr.
