Jacquelyn Denise Charles, fondly known as Jacki, a cosmetologist and resident of Kansas City, MO, died unexpectedly on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at the age of 49.
Jacki, an only child, is survived by her mother, Gloria Denise Charles, aunt Vallori Charles, cousins Donovan Charles, Cremin and Kerrye Mosley and significant other, Edwin Onaycha. She is predeceased by her beloved grandparents, Audrew and Raymon Charles and her uncle, Gary Charles.
Jacki was born in Independence, Missouri on June 21, 1971. She graduated from William Chrisman High School of Independence in 1989 and was a long-time member of St. Paul AME Church in Independence. Jacki found her passion professionally as a stylist and developed her skills at Great Clips where she was a general manager.
Jacki was a fun-loving, dependable and loyal friend and dearly loved her family. A “play aunt’ to her cousin’s sons Cameron and Kamau, Jacki provided support, guidance and entertainment to their delight. She loved to travel, was a great cook, and was a spiritual woman who was involved in many church and volunteer activities. Prior to the pandemic, she enjoyed a vacation with her cousins Kerrye and Cremin Mosley to Jamaica where they enjoyed the culture, cuisine and water sports. Always ready for a gathering, Jacki could be counted on to bring savory entrees and delicious deserts. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.
Funeral Services will be held at 12pm noon on Friday, December 11th at Watkins Heritage Chapel 4000 Emanuel Cleaver Blvd KCMO 64130. Visitation 10am. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery in Independence, Mo.
