Mrs. Jessie B. Washington, was born April 30, 1925 in Hope, Arkansas, daughter of Joseph Johnson and Evelyn Carson Johnson. Jessie’s parents and sister Anna have preceded her in death.
Jessie met and married in her early teens her first love Robert Lacy in Arkansas. They moved to Kansas City where Robert began working at the meat processing plant where they started their family.
She attended school at RT Coles High School and after graduating she began working at the St. Joseph Hospital for 13 years and retired from the Veterans Medical Center.
Later in her life she met and married Marshall Seay and from this union there were two children.
Jessie surrender her life to Christ in her early 30’s at Victory Temple and has not turn back since. She’s often been referred to as the Proverbs 31; woman. To know her is truly to know love, she has always had a welcoming first impression on her face and in her heart.
Jessie was the mother of eight children; Robert Lacy, Jr., Charles Lacy, who have also preceded her in death, Kenneth Lacy, Marshall Lacy, Gerry Lacy, Evelyn Lacy, Teresa Seay and Larry Seay 23 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren and 32 great-great grandchildren.
Services will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2020 11 am at Watkins Heritage Chapel. Visitation 10 am. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery.
