Levester "Ves" "Lee" Byers passed away at 83 years old on Saturday May 23rd, 2020 at Carondelet Place in Kansas City, MO. He was born on June 26th, 1936 in Cleveland Arkansas, LeVester was the third child born to the union of Olliway Byers Sr. and Cedellar Byers Wallace. He was preceded in death by one daughter Karen Denise Byers, one son Darryl Wayne Byers, his parents Ollieway Byers Sr. and Cedellar Byers Wallace, Luther Wallace (Stepfather) three brothers Leodis, Ollieway Jr. and Tiney Byers and two sisters Ester Mae Trezant and Ora Lee Chanault. Levester attended Center High School Cleveland Arkansas.
He was a member at Morris Chapple church in Cleavland, Arkansas. LeVester was united in marriage on June 8, 1957 to the love of his life Gloria D Sims. The two had eight children together five sons and three daughters. LeVester retired from Brocateos Auto Services in Kansas City, MO. LeVester enjoyed rebuilding and working on cars, fishing, talking on the CB (his CB handle was "John Boy"), playing dominoes and listening to the down home blues.
LeVester leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved wife of 62 years, Gloria D Byers of the home, two daughters Debra and Anita Byers both of Kansan City, MO, four sons Gregory of Kansas City, MO, Marvin (Brenda) of Denver, CO, Kevin of Kansas City, MO. and Kenneth ( Iletha) Byers of Kansas City, MO. four sisters Cora Lee Bailey of Atlanta, Georgia, Lorean Dunbar of Morrilton, Arkansas, LuVellar Byersof Kansas City, MO, and Shirley (Vinord) Wallace, one brother Ulysses (Coeteal) Wallace. one daughter in-law Lonita Byers of Clarksville, Texas, and one sister in-law Maeola Byers, 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Services were held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 30 at Watkins Heritage Chapel. Visitation 10:00 A.M. Interment Forest Hill and Calvary Cemetery.
