MR. JOHN LEE STEWART

Mr. John Lee Stewart, 69 of Kansas City, Missouri.

John L. Departed this life on October 14, 2020 at Swope Ridge Geriatric Center.

John L. was born April 16, 1951 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to Wilora Shorter and Willie Stewart.

John L. was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandmother Susieannah Shorter, Grandfather Will Shorter, Uncle Simmie L. Crawford Sr. Willie L. Crawford, Rhonda L. Crawford.

As a child He attended Damascus Baptist Church in KCMO.

John L. attended Dunbar Elementary and he graduated from East High School in 1970. After graduation he was drafted to the Vietnam War in April 1971. He served his country and was Honorable Discharged in 1973 with the Army Commendation Medal, The Air Medal and many more medals.

John L. worked at Rite Way Magic Co., as a Repairer/Electrical Tech for 15 years. John L. also, worked at a hotel in the Plaza and many other jobs in KCMO.

He leaves to mourn his death: his mother Wilora Luppens, his sister Alberta Jackson-Sorrells, his only nephews Sheldon Sorrells, Waymon Dixon (Monica) all of KCMO.

John L. also leaves his Aunt Versie L. Crawford, Cousins: Simmie L. Crawford Jr. (Elizabeth), James W. Crawford (Cheri) of South Carolina, Bernard Crawford of Oklahoma, Carl E. Crawford of Springfield, Mo, Michael J. Crawford (Carolyn), Betty J. Crawford, Beatrice L. Crawford, Venita Crawford who was raised with him as brothers and sisters.

And a host of Great Nieces, Great Nephews and Aunts, Uncles and a host of Cousins and friends.

Graveside Service was held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Forest Hill Calvary Cemetery, 6901 Troost Ave, Kansas City, MO 64131. Visitation 10:00 am at Watkins Heritage Chapel.
