Charles Booker was born to Mattie (Bryant) Booker and Gardner Booker in Pensacola, Florida on September 1, 1950. At the age of six, Charles moved to St. Louis, MO. with his Aunt Bernice and Uncle Thomas. At the age of 12, he moved to Kansas City, Missouri with his mother and father. Charles attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic School, while attending Blessed Sacrament, Charles served as an altar boy. He attended Paseo High School, where he met his first wife Cindy Shelby and they have a son Derek Booker. Years later the marriage dissolved, and he married Olean Robins and they have one son together Jason Booker. Charles worked for The City of Kansas City for several year, St. Luke’s Hospital for 5 years and finally, retire from Burlington Department Store. Charles was a hard worker.
Charles gave his life to Christ at a young age. He loved hanging out with his friends and family. He was an outgoing person. His personality would light up the room. He was a caring person, that always took care of others consistently. Charles gave his life to loving others and being there for them. Charles was preceded in death by his mother Mattie (Bryant) Booker, father Gardner Booker, special friend Olean Robins-Booker; Paternal and Maternal Grandparents.
He leaves to cherish his memory, two sons Derek Booker (Tomika) and Jason Booker (Shavon); 4 granddaughters Jasmine Booker, Briana Booker, D’mya Booker, Brooklyn Booker; 2 grandsons Kevon Graves, Nosaj Booker; 2 great grandsons Ayden Pittman and Alec Pittman; special friend Cindy Shelby; host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephew, cousins, colleagues and friends.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 18, 2022, 11:00am at Watkins Heritage Chapel. Longview Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10am-11am at the chapel. Service conducted by Watkins Heritage Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.
