Mr. Cleauthor Wells Obituary

Cleauthor Wells was born in Rosedale, Kansas to the union of Tom H. Wells, Sr. and Mathel A. Bigham. His parents; sisters, Carrie Rhodes, Johnnie Mae Lowe, Katherine Webb, Nedra Valliant, Pearlene Edwards, Earlene Wells, Maurine Gray and Melva Wells; brothers, Tom H. Wells, Jr., Carlmon Wells, Wilton Wells and Gregory Wells; granddaughter Yukiya Wells preceded him in death.

Cleauthor moved to Rosedale, Kansas in 1943. He received his education in Kansas City, Missouri.

Cleauthor worked for the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KC-Metro) as a bus driver for 30 years until his retirement in 2005.

Cleauthor was a quiet and private man. He was a great provided for his family.

Cleauthor had a great love for travel and driving. He loved to take his family on road trips.

Cleauthor always made sure that his family including his grandchildren traveled to see other parts of the United States. They took road trips to Florida, Minnesota, New York, New Orleans, Tennessee, and Mississippi to name a few. He drove his grandchildren to Disneyworld in Florida three times. He drove the entire trip without any assistance.

Cleauthor loved to watch the KC Chiefs and western movies. He occasionally enjoyed bowling. He is departed his earthly journey September 18, 2021 at Kansas University Hospital, KCKS. He will be dearly missed and is survived by his wife of 59 years, Curley Wells; daughter, Karen Wells; son, Terry Wells; granddaughter Asha Ball; grandsons, Christopher Wells, Tameron Wells, and Terry Wells; great grandson, Kyan Wells; sister in law, KiKu Wells, and a host of family and friends.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, September 25, 2021, 11:00am at the Watkins Heritage Chapel. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10am-11am at the chapel. Service conducted by Watkins Heritage Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website. Due to COVID-19protocols, social distancing and face coverings are indoors.
