Dwayne Anthony Lester, 57, of Kansas City, MO, transitioned on Friday, January 14, 2022, at Kansas City Hospice House.
Dwayne was born August 5, 1964, to William Levi Allen III and Mary Geneva Lester, in Kansas City, Kansas. He attended schools in the Kansas City, MO school district and later became a mechanic.
Wayne, as he was affectionately called, was a private and peaceful individual. Rarely did he raise his voice. Some would say he was a gentle giant with a heart to match. Fairly reserved yet could light up any room with his charm and infectious smile. He led a simple life. It didn’t take much to satisfy him. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with family and friends, but above all else – he loved cars! During his later years, he professed Christ as his personal Lord and Savior.
Dwayne was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Allen – Gilliam, brother Michael Allen, and grandparents, Hoffman and Geneva Hoskins. He leaves to cherish his memory his father, William Levi Allen III; sisters Denise Allen, Vivian (Wesley Gregg) Buckner, and Schrea Ross; brothers Terry Allen and William Ross; nieces Kia Buckner and Khierra Allen; nephew Claude Sterling III; an aunt, Barbara (Lamon Sr.) Carter, and “Aunt” Marvena Howard; dear friends, Patricia Smith, Marilyn Turner, and Ronald Turner; and a host of other nieces and nephews, family, and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, January 19, 2022, 1:00pm at Watkins Heritage Chapel. Service conducted by Watkins Heritage Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website. Service will be Live Stream www.mstcsunset.com
