Mr. Earl Williams Obituary

Mr. Earl Williams, Jr. departed this life on Friday, September 3, 2021, to be with the Lord.

Earl Williams, Jr. was born September 9, 1938, in Blaine, Mississippi, to Earl Williams and Gladys Cannady Williams.  He moved to New Madrid, Missouri, and attended O'Bannon High School.  Earl Williams married Rosetta Griffin, and this union was blessed with five children.

Earl joined his sister, Francie Williams Bolton, in Kansas City, MO, in 1965.  He professed his faith in Jesus Christ and joined Greenwood Baptist Church in Kansas City, MO, where he was baptized and became a devoted member and deacon.    Shortly after coming to Kansas City, he became an entrepreneur and business owner of his gas station and garage.

On August 27, 1988, Earl married Peggy Brown. Together, they continued his love for entrepreneurship by owning an upholstery shop together for 15 years.  Earl joined Christian Fellowship Baptist Church in 1991, where he served faithfully as a deacon.  As a result of his kind and generous spirit, he was loved by many.  Earl’s Christian life and his love for God were demonstrated by his many acts of love and service to others. He had a passion and was committed to serving others. Deacon Williams was always willing to pray for any and everyone, and as "Mr. Handyman," he enjoyed fixing whatever needed to be fixed.

For his last 15 years, he worked for Jim's Disposal Company as a driver, where he also retired.   He was an avid bowler for more than 40 years, and he loved to drive.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Gladys Williams; his son, Willie Earl Williams; brothers Edward Lee Williams and Johnnie Williams (Lueron); sisters Valerie Gilmore, Christine Mayo, and Rosemond Uneik Gilmore.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 33 years, Mrs. Peggy L.
