Mr. Gregory A. Byers

Gregory Allan Byers, 61 departed this life on Monday, January 24, 2022, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO.

He was born on September 17th, 1960 in Kansas City, MO. Gregory was the third of eight children born to LeVester and Gloria Byers.

Gregory was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Karen Denise Byers and one brother Darryl Wayne Byers.

Gregory attended school in the Kansas City area South East and Lincoln High School. Later on, in life, he became a sub-contractor and started his own business “Byers Handyman”.

Gregory attended Pleasant Green Baptist Church in Kansas City, KS where he was baptized at an early age.

He loved traveling, spending time with his family, grilling for his family on holidays, and talking on the CB (his CB handle was 1800). Gregory was a very loveable person who was kind and good-natured. Everyone who knew Greg knew him to be funny and someone who always spoke his mind (whether you asked for his opinion or not). Gregory also loved to play many musical instruments and collect albums.

Gregory leaves to Cherish his memory: his stepdaughter Carolyn (Candy) Ann Boyd II of Kansas City, MO, his niece that he adopted Porsha Byers of Bryant Arkansas, and one son Kedrin Byers ( BreShay) of Austell, GA. Six grandchildren Darren Partee, KaNia Byers, ArdeNe Byers, Khalid Byers, Khalijah Byers, and Kali Byers. Two sisters Debra and Anita Byers both of Kansas City, MO, Three brothers Marvin (Brenda) of Portsmouth, VA. Kevin of Kansas City, MO and Kenneth (IIetha) Byers of Kansas City, MO. One sister-in-law Lonita Byers of Clarksville, TX., seven nieces, seven nephews, eleven great-nephews, thirteen nieces, two great great nephews, one great great niece, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends.

Services will be held Saturday, February 12, 2022  11 am at Watkins Heritage Chapel. Visitation 10 am. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. For further information call Watkins Heritage Chapel at 816-861-3030
