Mr. Ivan Johnson, Jr.

Ivan Johnson (Junior), 64 years of age, passed away at his residence March 11, 2021 in Wichita, Kansas, where he lived after moving from Kansas City, Missouri. 

Ivan, known to most as Junior, was preceded in death by his Mother, Willa Mae; Father, Ivan Sr.; and Brother, Simon. Ivan was a long-time Baptist, being baptized at the Church formerly known as Elijah Rock in Kansas City, Missouri. Ivan, being a very studious person, graduated with honors from the Missouri school system. He was certified in several different areas of the medical field. Ivan joined the Army and received certification for medic, driver, and long-range rifle sharpshooter. Ivan was given an honorable discharge after his time in the military and began working as a caregiver after returning home.

Ivan became an attentive, loyal personal caretaker for his mom and his aunt.  Ivan could laugh and joke with most people and due to his Christian upbring he was easily at home with a good bible study.

Ivan had no wife and no children, but he does leave behind a maternal aunt Vinetter Casey, Uncle Willie (Annie) McIntosh, all of Wichita Kansas, with loads of cousins and friends who will truly miss him. We will be at peace with his home going.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 22, 2021, 1:00pm at Watkins Heritage Chapel. Interment Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00pm –1:00pm at the chapel. Service conducted by Watkins Heritage Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.
