Jamell “Melly “Hornbeck, 32, of Kansas City, Missouri was born on October 10, 1989, to Mr. Clarence “Jo Jo” Walton and Mrs. Mauri Hornbeck Walton. Jamell attended Westport high school and was a very talented writer and enjoyed performing his music.
Jamell enjoyed recording his music and has recorded multiple albums.
Jamell was a musician he enjoyed creative word play and using his music for self-expression.
Jamell’s music was a safe place for him to share his experiences from the world. He loved spending time with his family and his children. Every moment he spent with his family was special.
Jamell has impacted so many people with his contagious smile and laugh. He was always joking and sharing his special memories. The love and joy Jamell shared with us all is irreplaceable and will be deeply missed.
Jamell followed the Word and believed in GOD.

Jamell was preceded in death by his Father, Clarence Walton, paternal great-grandmother Katie B. Walton, maternal grandmother Faye Tindal, maternal grandfather Maurice Hornbeck, paternal grandmother Pauline Lavern Walton, paternal grandfather Clarence Roberts and nephew Jamall Hornbeck Jr. Loved ones left to cherish Jamell’s memory, he leaves: Mrs. Mauri Hornbeck Walton (mother), Mr. Jamall Hornbeck (twin brother), Mr. H. Hvelin Scales Jr., (Stepfather), Mr. and Mrs. H. Hvelin Scales III (brother), (Jaleen), Jamauri Hornbeck (sister), four children, Janyhla Carter, Elijah Hornbeck, Jamill Hornbeck and Kash Hornbeck all of Kansas City, Missouri. He also leaves a host of loving Uncles, Mr. Carter Townsend, Mr. and Mrs. Jason “Mike” Jones (Lucy), Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Townsend (Ardra), Mr. Darren Walton, Mr. and Mrs. Vondell Walton (Malissa) & Mr. Keith Moore. Aunties, Ms. Kayla Walton (Perry), Ms. Shavon, Ms. Carla Moore, Ms. Ellweese Newton, God Grandparents, Mrs. Elise Parker (Willie), (Aunts), Mrs. Yolanda Crockett, Ms. Ordella Williams, Ms. Tywanna Williams, Uncle Eric Williams, he also leaves a host of Great Aunts, Uncles, Close Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, and lifelong Friends and he leaves behind a special friend Ms. Jasmin Nance.
Services will be held Friday December 17, 2021, 3:30 pm at Watkins Heritage Chapel. Visitation will be from 2:30 pm -3:30pm at the chapel. Service conducted by Watkins Heritage Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.
