Mr. Jeremiah Plowden

November 14, 1991 ~ July 22, 2023 (age 31) 31 Years Old

Obituary

Jeremiah Vernon Plowden was born in Wichita, KS, on November 14, 1991. Jeremiah was a beautiful baby, and his parents Dwight and Racheal Plowden were blessed to have him.

As a child Jeremiah attended GNT church and as a result of his teachings at home, he gave his life to the LORD at a young age under the guidance of Pastor Keith Cullors.

Jeremiah grew up in Wichita, Kansas. He enjoyed many sports, basketball, track, and football, but his passion was football. As a child, he played quarterback for the Wichita Colts and honed his skills by putting in the work practicing with his dad. Jeremiah was a 4-year QB at Wichita Southeast High School. After graduating high school Jeremiah received a scholarship to play football at Fort Scott Community College where he completed his associate degree. After graduation he went on to play cornerback at Missouri State University where he made the dean’s list and received a BA in Criminology.

While attending Fort Scott, Jeremiah met Ashley Hanson. Jeremiah and Ashely were united in holy matrimony in 2014 and welcomed their first child the beautiful Lauryn or Lorraine as she was affectionately called by her dad. In 2021, they welcomed their second child a son, Jeremiah Dwight (Deuce) who looks like his dad and whose eyes seem to light up the room.

Jeremiah had a heart to help people.  While at Missouri Stated he created an organization called S.C.O.R.E. where he and other athletes partnered with Habitat for Humanity to help build homes. After graduating Jeremiah, created an organization called Unconquered where he helped to teach teenage boys life skills.  He focused his career in social services until his untimely death.

Jeremiah leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Ashley, daughter Lauryn, and son Jeremiah Dwight.  His parents Dwight and Racheal Plowden, and his siblings Carlissa, Joshua, and Moriah. His mother and father in-law Norma and Delroy Hanson, and his grandmothers Minnie Pigrum and Millie Taylor.  His sister-in-law Melissa McFarlane and brother and sister-in-law, Lindale and Rachel McFarlane.  His Uncle Lawrence (Mary) Plowden. His Aunts, Sandra (Larry) Johnson, Juanita McKennon, Rita and David Campbell, Charlene (Harold) Hollman, and Renea (Rodney) Copeland and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews' family, and friends. Jeremiah was proceeded in death by his Uncle Marcus Sain and his grandfather's Robert L. Taylor and Grover Pigrum.
