Kenneth was born in Portland, Jamaica on April 1, 1921. He was the youngest of 10 children.
He, like so many immigrants arrived in the U.S. during World War II to help the farming communities because many young men had enlisted in the service. After the war, many of his friends returned to Jamaica.

He was employed at Swift Packing House for 17 years until it closed in 1968. He would finish his career at Armco Steel, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Power of Faith A.M.E. Church, formerly Flipper Memorial A.M.E. where he served as Steward Emeritus. He also held the honor of Elder Statesmen for the Jamaican West Indian Social Club. We love him so much, we shared him proudly with the world as Papa Stewart, Uncle Mr. Stewart, Uncle Brother, Granddaddy, Great-Granddaddy, Great-Great-Granddaddy, Godfather and Patriarch.
