Mr. Vinson Webb Obituary

 

Vinson Webb was a husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and a true friend. He was born on June 20, 1952, and raised in Kansas City, MO. He was the fifth child born to the parents, of Lafayette Webb Sr. and Mary Alice (Bentley) Webb.  To the union of Mr. and Mrs. Lafayette Webb Sr. a total of six children were born, 5 boys and 1 girl. Vinson was preceded in death by his parents, Lafayette Webb Sr. and Mary Alice Webb, three brothers Eugene I. Webb Sr., Lafayette Webb Jr., and Thomas D. Webb Sr. and his two wives Cremonia Robins (1972) and Cathy Simmons (2009).

 Vinson grew up with family and church members at Metropolitan Spiritual Church of Christ until he graduated from Central High School in June 1970.  In August 1970 he decided to be all he could be, by signing up with the US Air Force for 4 years. He started at Offutt AFB and then he was sent to Korea.  He came out as a Sergeant.  After returning home he then attended Penn Valley Junior College and was self-employed for 3 years with Webb & Co. Construction.  He also was at USAF LOWRY AFB – Denver, CO., Defense Commissary Agency, Maxwell AFB, AL. and Imperial Guard Services, Memphis, TN., Vinson worked as a Greyhound bus driver. He retired December 19, 2014, from RTD as a bus driver. 

Vinson met Cremonia Robins in high school at Central High and married her in 1972.  To that union was born 1 daughter Veronica M. Webb.  After the death of Cremonia in 2005 he later met Cathy Simmons in 2009 and was happily married December 2009 for 2 years until her death in March 2011.

Vinson loved to travel, camp out, fish, working around the house both inside and outside, cook, as well as eating. Vinson was always the life of the parties, he enjoyed listening to music, dancing, and hanging out with his family and friends! He was a pure jokester that loved to laugh and make others around him laugh.

Vinson Webb enjoyed his 70th birthday on Monday, June 20th and departed this life on Tuesday, June 21, 2022. He leaves to morn and celebrate his life:  One loving daughter Veronica M. Webb of Dallas, TX. 1 Granddaughter Robyn M. Harkey.  Siblings: sister Alice M. McCullough, brothers, George A. Webb Sr. Brother-in-law, George McCullough, and Sister-in-law Willa J. Webb, Dorothy Webb, and Rose Webb. Nephews: Russell Lane (Amy), George Webb Jr, Thomas A. Webb (Ella Sharon), Daniel Webb (Formika), Antione Webb Sr., Anthony E. Webb Jr., Thomas D. Webb Jr., Quincy Scott, Darian Perkins, and William Perkins (Danyale). Nieces: TuJuania Scott (Dred), Sharon Jackson (Daniel), Karen Haskins (Michael), Cheryl Webb, Mary Webb, Eugenia Lowery, Tonja Webb, Kayla Scott and a host of cousins and friends.                                 

He will be missed by all. 

 

Vinson Webb, funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2022, 10:00am at Watkins Heritage Chapel.  Interment Leavenworth National Cemetery, LVNKS.  Visitation will be from 9am-10am at the chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.
