Frank James Fields Sr. was born on July 4, 1939 to the late Billy Sr. and Clara Mae Owens in Monroe County Mississippi. He was the fifth of thirteen children.
Frank professed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined Poplar Springs CME Church in Shannon, Mississippi. Frank joined Emmanuel Baptist Church in Kansas City, Missouri under the leadership of the late Bishop W.H. White Sr. becoming a Deacon in 1969, a member of the Male Chorus and later was on the Board of Trustees.
Frank attended Mississippi Public Schools. He graduated from Fannie Carter High School. Frank enjoyed hunting and fishing as a young boy and throughout his life.
Frank united in holy matrimony to Junetta Crawford on July 14, 1959 shortly before relocating to Kansas City, Missouri. There were 11 children born to this union.
Frank worked as a busboy at Hereford House restaurant before becoming a Plumber and Pipefitter at Bendix/Allied Signal/Honeywell retiring in 2001.
Frank loved having his family gather at the house for holidays and the annual family vacations. He had many talents. He also invested in real estate and spent his remaining years as a landlord.
Frank leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Minister Junetta Fields “Honey”; 8 sons, Frank Fields, Jr., Christopher Fields, Volney Fields, James Fields, Corey Fields, Sr., Quennel Fields, Sr. (LaTasha), Jacque Fields and Zahn Fields (Lashonda); 3 daughters Sherry Fields, Lydia McBride, and Marsha Fields; 16 grandchildren Tiffany Helms (Corey, Sr.), Bruce McBride II, LaMar McBride, James Fields, Ja’len Fields, Cameron Fields, Lily Gardner, Jacob Walker, Ena Askia, Corey Fields Jr., Christian Fields, Steven Fields, Jr., Hymani White, Hythen White, Jr., Eriana Hood, Quennel Fields Jr., Mi’Liano Fields and Jaycee Haynes; 13 great grandchildren: Kaleigh Stanford, Corey Helms, Jr., Corahn Helms, Iris Rucker, Carley Helms, Dawaan McBride, Damaathi McBride, LaMar McBride, Jr., Lilyanna McBride, Jakoi Fields, Jaiden Gardner, Jensen Gardner and Anchor Gardner; 2 adopted daughters, Angela Molix-Fields, and Dr. Lisa Molix (Dr. Charles Nichols);.4 sisters: Sheila Fields of Grandview Missouri, Juanita Johnson of Chicago Illinois, Marilyn Davis of Jackson Mississippi, and Tishe Mallett of Chicago Illinois; one sister-in-law: Juanita Hicks (Henry); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 6 brothers: William Fields, Edward Fields, Billy Fields, Charles Fields, Jimmy Fields, Jesse Fields and two sisters: Minnie Fields and Sallye Crawford.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, December 18, 2021, 11:00am at the Watkins Heritage Chapel. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 9am-11am at the chapel. Service conducted by Watkins Heritage Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.
