Mrs. Eunice E.M. Jones

Eunice Ella Mae Jones was born to the late Elton and Lola Gibson in Muskogee, Oklahoma on August 17th, 1932. 

She was united in holy matrimony to Wallace B. Jones on May 2nd, 1953.  They remained married until his death on July 4th, 2018.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wallace, daughter Deborah Jones and 14 siblings, 9 brothers and 5 sisters: Juanita, Laura, Evette, Doretha, Sedera, Elton, Ivie, Elton, Lawrence, Chauncy, Maurice, Dalton, R.D. and Husey. 

Eunice was the youngest and the last of this Gibson family union.  She gave her life to Christ at very young age and was later baptized by the world-famous Reverend Billy Graham Sr. in Muskogee, OK.  She was strong, determined and later grew into the same as a daughter, sister wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, friend and was loved by all. 

She attended the Muskogee, OK public school system before relocating to Kansas City, MO in 1950, where she later met and married her husband and soulmate for his lifetime of 65 years. She attended Owens Beauty College.  Her hobbies included cooking, sewing, traveling, doing hair, and singing.  She loved the holidays, special occasions with family and friends.  She could spend hours working her puzzle books and enjoyed occasionally going to the casino.  She was famously known in her neighborhood for her Eunieburgers.

Sunset came for Mrs. Eunice Ella Mae Jones on February 15th, 2022, peacefully with loving family by her bedside at Kansas City Hospice Care Facility in Kansas City, MO to be with her Lord.

She leaves a legacy of love to her family to carry on 2 sons Ronald Jones (Judy), Marvin Jones, 4 daughters Cynthia Bradley (Oliver), Constance Weber, Cheryl Jones, Thelma Anderson and a special nephew and niece Ivory and Maxine Grayson and Patrice Scott. Eight grand children 15 great grandchildren 3 great great-grandchildren and a host of nieces’ nephews, cousins and friends that will live on for generations to come.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 26, 2022, 11 am at Ebenezer AME Church. Visitation will be from 9am-11am at the church. Interment Blue Ridge Lawn Cemetery. Service conducted by Watkins Heritage Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.
