Emma Jean Hatten was born on July 17, 1930, in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Willie Bullock and Cradie Brinkley. She departed this life on July 12, 2023, at home in Kansas City, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Steve Hatten, Sr., daughter Inetta S. Hatten-Walker, grandsons Corey M. Hatten, Charles Goff, and Metahj Hatten, granddaughters Carrie K. Williams, and Amyiah Hatten, sister's Willa M. Jackson, Essie L. Johnson, Viola Alexander, and Pauline Bullock.
She accepted Jesus Christ at an early age. She was a member of Starlight Missionary Baptist Church.
In her earlier years she met and married Steve Hatten, Sr. To this union they were blessed with ten beautiful children. Emma was a housewife who loved her family. She enjoyed time with family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, music, playing bid whist, partying and traveling with her club.
Emma Jean Hatten leaves to cherish her memory seven daughter's, Paris Hatten-Valleau, Doris Hatten, Shelia Williams, Brenda Hatten, Rhonda Hatten, LaTonya Brown, and Emma Hatten, two sons Steve Hatten, Jr. and Mark Hatten, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, and twelve great- great- grandchildren.
Services will Tuesday, July 25, 2023, 11 am at Watkins Heritage Chapel visitation 9 am. Interment in Floral Hills Cemetery. Funeral Service conducted by Watkins Heritage Chapel Condolences may be shared on our website.
