Emma L. Knight was born on December 30, 1935, in Jesup, Georgia to the late Ruben Ceasar, Sr. and Rosa Stanley. Emma’s husband, Freddie Knight, her sister, Fannie Cruse, two brothers, Ruben Ceasar, Jr. and Phillip A. Ceasar, Sr. all preceded her in death.
As a child, Emma met the love of her life Freddie Knight and they were married on July 22, 1950.
In 1973 Emma accepted Christ as her personal savior. She was a lifelong member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church where she served on the Senior Usher Board until her health failed.
Emma worked at Sunshine Biscuits as a Cookie Packer for over thirty years. She retired in 1997.
Emma loved to cook, sew and travel. She also adored her family and loved family reunions.
Emma leaves to cherish her memory: three daughters, Lucile Haywood of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Vivian Shans of Independence, Missouri and Faye Lasker (Tim) of Kansas City, Missouri; two sons, Jerome Knight and Rickie Knight (Kristy) of Atlanta, Georgia; thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, October 30th, 2021, at Emmanuel Church. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10am-11:00am at the church. Service conducted by Watkins Heritage Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.
