Ms. Flora J. Tydings Waddell

Flora June Tydings Waddell passed away peacefully at the age of 94 in St. Louis, MO July 23rd, 2023. She was born to the union of Archie Tydings and Delma Dugan Tydings in Madison MO on April 21st,1929. the oldest of two daughters. Her younger sister Cecilia and parents preceded her in death. Completing her early education in the Moberly Public Schools prior to matriculating to Lincoln High School of Kansas City Mo, graduating in 1946. Shortly after graduating, she married the love of her life Bobby Waddell, the boy next door. In February 1947 their union welcomed their only child Delma Evonne Waddell.

In the Mid 50’s, Flora received the Sacrament of Confirmation at St. Joseph Catholic Church.  She continued her membership after in merged with St. Monica Catholic Church becoming a faithful member until her death.

In the late 80’s she retired from Macy’s Shop at Home Department after 35 plus years of service.

 She is known for her love of family, Jazz, Gates BBQ, the Kansas City Chief and her unwavering devotion to her husband until his death in 2011 after 64 years 10 months and 1 day of marriage. She lived a rich and blessed life. 

Her legacy includes her daughter, Delma (Oscar) Fransaw, grandsons Aaron Robert Waddell (Kawana) and Jacques Pierre Fransaw, great grandchildren Jonah Atchison, Winston, Zion and Ky’Ree host nieces and nephews, family, and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 2, 2023, 10am at St. Monica Catholic Church, visitation 9 am. Interment in Mt. St. Mary's Cemetery. Watkins Heritage Chapel 4000 Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd Kansas City, Missouri  64130 816-861-3030
