Ms. Florine Scott Obituary


Florine Scott, a lifelong resident of Independence, Missouri entered into eternal peace on Friday, November 11, 2022 at the Groves Rehabilitation and Retirement Community, 1515 W. White Oak St. she was the fourth child born to the union of William Scott and Flora Johnson-Scott on April 7, 1920 in LaMonte, Missouri.

Florine was taught to honor God and to value education. Subsequently, she extended her studies by enrolling in Business courses after graduation from Young High School in 1959, Independence, Missouri.

Florine’s enthusiasm for learning became evident in all of her endeavors. She retired as Manager of Hocker Heights Housing Authority in Independence, Missouri.  She was an active member of First Methodist Church 400 W. Maple at Springs St. and a resident at Heritage House Senior Apartments for over 25 years until her health failed.

Florine was a devoted daughter and sister. She was kind, respected and loved by many. Florine will be missed by her cousin and caregiver, Patricia Frierson; special friends, Judith Hawley, Maci and Wilbert Wilson; cousins Darrell (Star) of Phoenix, Arizona, the Groves Rehabilitation staff, One Community Hospice staff and a host of family members and friends.

A Memorial services will be set a later date. Service conducted by Watkins Heritage Chapel.
