Gertrude Wells was born on August 10, 1928 in a little town called Rolla, Missouri. Rolla is a small town near Jefferson City, Missouri and about 171 miles from Kansas city. Mother was born to her parents John Williams and Gertrude Osley. Mrs. Osley fell sick and did not recover, and mother was raised by her adopted parents Jim and Maggie Bush.
Gertrude accepted the Lord in her life at an early age. She was a strong believer and and soon joined the Catholic church. Her love for the Lord and compassion for other radiated throughout her life as she cared for her children and others. She loved to read, sing, window shop, dance and much more. She always wanted a large family and gave birth to 13 children. .
Mom also loved to love to rhyme, she loved pets especially cats. She at one time started feed 1 stray cat that was in her back yard, and soon she was feeding 10 to 20 neighborhood cats. She didn’t care! She feed them all.
She is survived by family, friends and loved ones: Willard Williams, James Graves, Leroy Graves, Debra Jones, Robert Graves, Larry Graves, Tina Wells, Camille Wells, Rachelle Morrow, Timothy Wells Jr., Michael Wells, and Vincent Wells. She also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, friends and family. Honorary mentions are: Albert K Loyd and Ernestine Jackson who also loved and cared for her dearly.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021, 1:30pm at the Watkins Heritage Chapel. Interment Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12pm-1:30pm at the chapel. Service conducted by Watkins Heritage Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.
