Ms. Irene Phillips

Irene Phillips was born January 15, 1930 in Prescott, Arkansas to John Wesley and Inell Bullock.

Her siblings included Harrfson Bullock, Florene Turner, John R. Bullock, and Z.W. Bullock.

Irene was educated in Murfreesboro and later graduated from Nashville High School in Nashville Arkansas.

In 1948, she married Voyage Phillips in Murfreesboro, Arkansas.  To this union, five children were born. Myrtle L. Phillips Burton, William Phillips, LaForest phillips, Michael Phillips, and Van Phillips.

Irene was employed by Armco Steel  from which she retired and after her retirement she started working part time for Durham Bus Company.

Irene was always one who spoke her mind and enjoyed watching western movies, Judge Judy, and loved cooking for family and friends. Irene attended St. Teresa Catholic Church for over 40 years and later became Non-Denominational.

Irene departed this life on April 5, 2022. Her parents John Wesley Bullock and Inell Bullock: siblings Harrison Bullock, John R. Bullock, and Z.W. Bullock; sons Van Phillips, LaForest Phillips, and William Phillips, and one grandson, Chad Cain, all preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memories, two children, Myrtle Phillips Burton and Michael Phillips {Tanya) and last living sibling Florene Turner; six grandchildren Erica Burton, Steven Phillips, Robynn Burton Downs {Kendrick) Mesdin Phillips, Carlos Phillips, and Wesley O’Laughin {Elizabeth}. Two special great grandchildren Charlesia and Erione Gant. Twelve great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren and a host ot nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 16, 2022, 11:00am at Watkins Heritage Chapel. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Service conducted by Watkins Heritage Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.
