Ms. Josephine Carter Obituary

Josephine Marie Carter (Hardy) 73, of Kansas City, MO, departed this life on October 29, 2022. Josephine was known by family and friends as "Josie".

Josie was born May 12, 1949, to A.R. Hardy and Eula Maude Hardy, who both precede her in death along with one brother Eugene "Hook" Hardy.

Josie attended East High School, of Kansas City, MO. Josie also attended and graduated from Penn Valley Community KCMO while majoring in Business and Communication. Josie then began a career with the State of MO Pretrial-Release Office for the Probation and Parole Office, where she worked for 25 years then retired at the young age of 55.

Josie was devoted to her beliefs and religion. She was baptized at Galilee Baptist Church, her family church growing up in KCMO. She later became an active member of the Greater Mt. Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church by serving on the Usher board.

Josie was a good, spirited individual who enjoyed laughing and spending time with family and loving life.

Josie had multiple hobbies and talents that included sewing, arts and crafts, watching good movies and listening to music. Josie was also a gamer. She would spend hours playing electronic games. Josie’s favorite holiday was July 4th. She considered herself a grill master. Josie also enjoyed going to the casino and playing bingo, just for the fun of the games. Josie was also good with technology and computers.

Josephine leaves to cherish her loving memory, her children Derrick Hardy (Kim), Erick Hill, Tonya Wash, and Joseph Hardy (Nicole), along with...
