Ms. Kim Freeman Obituary

Kim Hayes Freeman departed this earth on March 3rd, 2023. She was born to Claudia Freeman and Edward Freeman on September 10th, 1960, in Fordyce, Arkansas. Kim spent her childhood years in Tuckerman, Arkansas. She then attended college at the University of Central Arkansas where she pledged Zeta Phi Beta inc.

In the early 80’s Kim moved to Kansas City, MO and soon started employment at the Kansas City Star where she was a graphic artist. She was a member of Mt. Vernon MBC while she lived in Kansas City. In 1995 she gave birth to her daughter Lauren and she was the apple of her eye. They later moved to Little Rock, AR where Kim was a member of Union AME church. While there she served as the teacher for the Single Women’s Ministry and she served on the Usher Board. She was employed by the Trucker inc where she continued as a graphic artist.

Kim spent most of her years in Arkansas and when she fell sick her daughter Lauren took care of her. Kim's days in the care of her daughter were “the best days” her daughter describes it. They laughed, they sang, they prayed, and had a great time with each other.

On March 3rd God called Kim home. She had fulfilled her purpose here on this earth.

To cherish her memory, she leaves daughter Lauren Jones of Kansas City, Mo., brothers Stanley Lewis of Orlando, Florida and Phillip Lewis of Atlanta, Georgia, sister Beverly Gray of Kansas City, Mo., granddaughter Charity Smith host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
