LaDonna Meshell Weatherspoon (Lofton) was born July 18, 1968 in Kansas City, Missouri to her loving mother, Rose Marie Lofton. She passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 5th, 2022 in her home surrounded by family. She was the youngest of four.

LaDonna graduated from Southeast High School and later went to obtain her Associates Degree in Business Administration. Soon after she received a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice at the University of Phoenix where she had hopes to pursue a career in family law.

LaDonna was a dedicated and hardworking employee for the City of Kansas City for over 20 years. At the time of her passing, she was a valued team member at the Kansas City Municipal Court.

LaDonna professed her love for Christ and was baptized at an early age. She was a faithful member at Abiding Faith Baptist Church and Mission. She devoted her life to serving the lord and spreading the good news of Christ to those around her. Through Christ she met her husband, the love of her life Zerlon T. Weatherspoon, her "Teddy Bear". Their union was sealed June 21, 2001. After her husband got sick, she became a full time dedicated caregiver in which she took on gracefully. Not only was she a loving wife but also the greatest mother to her two sons, Christopher Lofton and David Lofton and her only daughter, Angelique Lofton-Rowden. Instilling her children the importance of loving one another, kindness, hard work, and living life to its fullest. She was a kind, loving and giving soul, who had a smile that could brighten any room she was in.

LaDonna was a lover of nature and took delight in nurturing her plants. When she could, she enjoyed traveling and encouraged others to see the world as much as possible. In her pastimes, she took pleasure in listening to different types of music, Romcom movies, laughing with others, going to parks, cooking, reading the weekly “Call paper” and cherishing family moments. She was a lover of dogs and had a very special four legged friend named Luke, who preceded her in death. She is preceded in death by her husband Zerlon T. Weatherspoon, grandmothers Minnie Mae Means and Minnie Mae Allen, Uncle Ronald H. Means, Uncle Morris Means.

LaDonna leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved mother Rose Lofton, her children, Christopher Lofton, David Lofton and Angelique Lofton-Rowden, her brother, WIlliam “Billy” Lofton, two sisters, Januita Tolbert and Chiquina Lofton, two nephews, Marcus Lofton and Adrian Lofton and two nieces, Tasha Lofton and Jasia Tolbert, three grandchildren, Nyla Lofton, Elijah “Michael” Lofton and Nia Lofton; a host of relatives and two special friends, Gail Bennet and Darla Smith.
