Ms. Lois Pouncil

Lois Jean Pouncil, 76, passed away on May 12, 2021 at John Knox Village Care Center in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.  She was born on February 11, 1945 in Haynesville, Louisiana to Willie Watts and Arlessie Morris Watts.

Lois graduated from Carter G. Woodson High School in 1964.  After graduating, she moved to Kansas City, Missouri.

Lois was a member of Spruce St. Matthew Baptist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir until her health limited her ability to do so, so she sang along with the congregation.  When she wasn’t singing, she enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, reading her bible and spending time with family and friends.

Lois was preceded in death by both parents and brothers, Elton Watts, Eddie Watts, Alvin Watts, Bonnie Watts and her sister, Ann Daily.

Lois leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Freddie Pouncil; three daughters, Tammie Packnett, Rachelle Rozell and LaShann Packnett along with her bonus children; brothers, Willie Watts (Maggie) and Otto Watts (Margaret); sister, Syble Pointer; grandsons, Adrian Campbell (Jessica), Aron Davis, Tyrik Carter, Edward Goode, III and Christopher Little; great grandson, Hunter Campbell; great granddaughter, Kamerin Davis; along with a host of other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 22, 2021, 11:00am at Watkins Heritage Chapel. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9am-11am at the chapel. Service conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website. Due to COVID-19, social distancing and face coverings are required indoors. Temperature check for all guest(s).
