Ms. Renate Hartman

Renate Hartman, 65, found peace on January 10, 2023. She was, to her chagrin, surrounded by family and friends.

To some, Renate was the quintessential wallflower who kept to herself–reading, crocheting, writing poetry, and watching Murder She Wrote. To others, she was the best-dressed insurance guru who knew the trucking business better than anyone and had the awards to prove it (that she hid in a box). Yet to others, she was Mom and Granny– always down for a family lunch at the Olive Garden and buying stuff you didn’t need. But everyone who knew her will tell you that, above all, Renate was a fighter to the very end. With her struggles gone, she can forever shine. Even with the brim pulled way down low, we notice the bench is empty. Until next time, Mom, “Be careful. Love you. Will miss ya. Most important, have fun.”

Renate is survived by her mom, Traute; two daughters, Jennifer (Jed) and Kristin; three grandchildren, Lauren, Jillian, and Jedidiah (aka Bud); three siblings, Ursula, Trudy, and Richard; her best friend, Cheryl; and her beloved dog Zeus (aka Chewy). She is preceded in death by her dad, Clarence, who is now matching her step for step.  P.S. Grams says she loves you, Re-not. But you probably already heard it.
