Shelia’s true legacy lies in her children. As the proud mother of six, her heart belonged to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They brought her joy along with listening to good music, her favorite being the blues. Her grandson, Dennis Smith, Jr. also preceded her in death.
Shelia was a longtime faithful member of the Metropolitan Spiritual Church of Christ where she served as an Usher and participated in Sunday School. She was always in order and would always greet those who would enter in the back entrance of the Sanctuary.
