Willene Roberta Jones was born December 15, 1927, to William Luther and Thelma Estelle of Shawnee Mission, KS. who proceeded her in death, she was the oldest girl of her siblings, brothers Harold Estelle, Calvin Estelle, Luther Estelle Jr., Ernest Estelle, Herbert Estelle and sisters Norma Jean Fields and Helen Crowder who all proceeded her on death.
Willene united in holy matrimony to Samuel Lee Jones Jr on May 1st, 1948, and from this union was born a son Prentice Lee Jones both proceeded her in death.
She accepted and loved Christ ay an early age and later joined Cannan Missionary Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher and usher. She was a faithful member of Cannan, she loved attending church, being with her family and shopping.
She received her education in Shawnee, KS. She worked retail in her early years then became a unit secretary at Baptist Medical where she later retired from.
Willene went home to be with the Lord on January 19th, 2024, she leaves to cherish her memory, granddaughters Jennice Jones and Sherrice (Joseph) Arnold; two great grandchildren, Brittany Arnold-Jones and Brett Arnold-Jones and three great-great grandchildren Leilani, Aumni and Ta’niya Arnold-Jones and daughter in law Lernice Jones all of Kansas City, Missouri; and host of nieces and nephew and other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service will be held February 3, 2024, 11am at Cannan Worship Center 5333 E Bannister Rd, Kansas City, MO 64137. Interment Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Visitation from 9am-11am at the church. Repass to follow at Canaan. Services conducted by Watkins Heritage Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.
