Rev. Frank Williams, Jr. Obituary

Pastor Frank Williams Jr. a man after Gods own heart, was born to the union of the Late Frank & Pasty Williams on November 20, 1942, in Port Hudson Louisiana. He was the 9th child of 11 kids.

He dedicated his life to the Lord in 1954 and was baptized at Asphodel Baptist Church, Jackson La. In 1960 he was a singer in a gospel group called The Christian Travelers who later became The Spiritual Humanizers.

He graduated from Northwestern High School, Zachary, Louisiana in 1963.

Frank later moved to Missouri and was employed by the Urban League of KC MO. until retirement. On April 22, 1978, he joined in Holy Matrimony to the Late Maggie L Williams or “Baby”, the forever love of his life for over 42 years. Whom he loved with all his heart. He was called to preach the gospel November 9, 1975.

Rev. Frank Williams was called by God and ordained to become Pastor of Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church on May 19, 1981, and served as a faithful Pastor for 42 yrs.

Pastor Williams was a loving, courageous and faithful servant of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He preached and taught the Word of God to all and lived what he preached. He always had a positive spirit and taught us not to complain. When asked how he was doing, his reply was always, “Marvelous”! Pastor Williams loved his Church and exemplified the love of Christ to all the members, visitors and friends that came through the portals as well as those on the outside. Pastor Williams believed in Outreach Ministry and cared about the souls of mankind. During his years of ministry, you would find Pastor Williams on street corners with his bull horn, in front of Government Bldgs., etc., standing up for justice. He did not mind going to jail for preaching the gospel, although it happened, however he was a great example for all he taught, to see the power of God at work in his life.

Pastor Williams served in many offices with the New Era Missionary Baptist District Association for many years. He was a great Evangelist and ministered at many prisons, jails, missions, etc. He visited and prayed for many sick in hospitals, nursing homes, rehab facilities, etc. Many people were healed physically, mentally, and spiritually. Many people were delivered from the power of Satan and many souls were saved by the power of God working in him.

Pastor Williams will be greatly missed and the legacy he has left behind will be cherished by all who knew him. Pastor Williams received, the Volunteer Recognition Award in 2023 from Shelter KC Mission for many faithful years of service.
