ROBERT RHODES
Robert (Magic) Rhodes was born on May 9, 1952 and died on Friday, November 15, 2019. He was proceeded in death by his parents Laura and Thurman Rhodes Sr., Brothers Jeff and George Rhodes, Sisters Jean Elam, Audrey Love and Teresa Kay Billups.  Robert was one of seven children, born to Laura & Thurman Rhodes Sr.  He was born in Kansas City, Kansas but moved to Kansas City, Missouri at a very early age.  He attended Manuel High School and continued his education in Culinary Arts where he earned a Culinary Arts degree.  He was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for friends and family.  “Magic” always enjoyed spending quiet time on the fishing banks, however his greatest joy in life came from being a DJ!  He loved music of all kinds and genres, he had a special gift and used it to make people dance and smile.  “Magic” brought happiness to everyone around him.  He had been playing music since 1979 working in many clubs on both sides of the state line.  He spent most of his time at Bob’s in Motion either playing music, enjoying a drink or a good game of Dominos.  He was a very special man to many and always greeted you with a smile and conversation.  He will be missed by many but never forgotten!  He leaves to mourn but also cherish the time spent together, his wife Cathy Rhodes, Brother Teddy Rhodes, daughters Kimberly, Makela, Nichole and Debbi and his son Andre.  He also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, his beloved nephew Jarrod and niece’s Shaleena and Letresa as well as many other nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Watkins Heritage Chapel 4000 Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd. Kansas City, Missouri 64130.  Visitation 2:00 p.m.  Private disposition.
