Rose M. Chambers was born March 30, 1935 in Homer, Louisiana. Rose transitioned from this life on Saturday, September 19, 2020. She was the eldest of four children and leaves her sisters Deborah Dotson and Rita Jackson to mourn her. Her late brother, Freddie Don Reliford passed in 1992. Rose was six years old when she moved to Argentine, Kansas with her parents, Fred and Lillie Mae Reliford. She attended public school and graduated from Sumner High School in 1954. She met and was married to her loving husband, Richard Cortez Chambers, Sr. in 1956.
They were married for 36 years until his death in February 1992. They were blessed to have four daughters: Toi-Kai Richelle, Caseane Venae (who preceded her in death), Ramene Yvette, and Alisa Naomi. Rose retired from the United States Postal Service after a dedicated career of 26 years as a Distribution Clerk. She worked the evening shift at the Pershing Road facility for as many years. Rose will be remembered for her love as a dedicated mother, grandmother, sister and daughter.
She leaves to cherish memories and to continue to celebrate her life her devoted children, Richard C. Chambers Jr., Geneva Ilene Chambers (preceded her in death), Gregory Wayne Gipson, Toi Watson, Ramene Grajeda, and Alisa Chambers,; sisters Deborah Dotson (California) and Rita Jackson (Maryland); and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Watkins Heritage Chapel Cleaver II Boulevard October 5, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. Visitation 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Internment Leavenworth National Cemetery.
