Ruth Welch

Ruth Welch was born October 23rd, 1922 in McGregor, Texas. She graduated from Carver High School, in 1941 which is also located in McGregor, Texas. She became a Christian at the age of 13 and was baptized at that time. Her husband Rev. John Welch of 21 years and her daughter Rita Gunn proceed her In death. Ruth Welch had a love and passion for music. She played the piano for several choirs in the city. She studied music for 5 years under Ms. Melba Bacote and 8 years under Mr. Harrison Fry.

To cherish her memory, she leaves behind her granddaughters Nicki L. Smith and Karen Stewart. Her Great Grandchildren Martine Munoz, Hassan Stewart and Amir Stewart. Her Great Great Journie Wilson, Justyce Wilson, Sahmara Stewart and Bilal Hickmon. And her very good friend Sheila Davis and her God daughter Juanita Jackson.

Graveside Services were held Tuesday, May 19, 2020 in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Watkins Heritage Chapel.
